For my mother

During my first year of teaching (2005), I bought a wood sign for sister1 with her last name and the year she was married on it.  Since then, my mother has been asking for one too.  I looked into getting her one made a few years ago, but the people were slow getting back to me and so things never really worked out.  This year, I decided, was the year to make it myself!

I think it turned out rather well!

When I made my menu board, I peeled each letter off the cut vinyl and put it on the glass individually,..and it took forever, and it's not straight.  Recently though, I saw a great idea on pinterest.  They recommended using Press and Seal to transfer the vinyl.  I tried it and it worked perfectly!!

Merry Christmas Ma!

his and hers

I saw this on Pinterest and decided to recreate it for us!

First, I cut out the shapes, in card stock, on my wishblade.  Then, I glued them to the back of the map, using my light desk to make sure everything was centered.  Then, I cut it out!  Pretty easy!

spinner

I made this this morning, before church, for a game we played with the kiddos.  Turned out to be pretty stinkin' cute!

Cutest spinner I've ever seen!

a crafty shower

I threw a shower for my pal the other day. I decided to make it a crafty affair. I've always wanted to do a onesie clothesline at a shower...so I did one!

I was so excited to get to use my wishblade! It took my a while to figure out exactly how the machine works and how exactly to get the banner to be perfect, but I think it turned out pretty well!

now all they need is the baby :)

a wish fulfilled!

Look what I got for Christmas... Can you believe it!?!?! It's a wishblade! It's kinda like a Cricut cutter...except about 1,000,000,000 times awesome-er. Yes, it cuts, but there are no pesky cartridges to buy, this beauty cuts any true-type font (and of course, just about any shape you could ever possibly imagine)!!! Yep! Just plug in the USB, tell it what you want, and cut to your heart's content! A dream come true! AND, it cuts paper and vinyl :) Look out world...I plan to cover you in cutely cut crafts!

A warning though, it does take some time to figure it out and the manual they send with it is worthless. But, after some google-ing and some time I feel like I'm doing pretty well. I don't understand all the features, but I do know how to use it well enough to have used it to make something pretty stinkin' awesome. Pics to come...soon!

I would be remiss if I didn't thanks Ks 1-4, 6 and my mom and dad for making all my Christmas dreams come true!
