Onesies for Jakey

About 6 months ago, I started making onesies for Jake!  About a month ago (after putting aside the first set because I waited too long and he grew too much) I finally finished them!

Now, that is one cute 'mommy's boy'!!

baby girl onesies

My friend Haylie is pregnant with a little girl.  I actually had a hard time coming up with ideas because I had never done baby girl onesies before!  At the shower, I had them on a clothesline and a guest said "Where did you get those?"  I told her I made them and she said "Do you sell them?"  I had just met that lady, but I loved her already!!!

Sometimes I feel like I am the only one who appreciates how cute my creations are...it's always nice to hear praise!  I told B I wish I lived closer to my sisters because I'm positive they would all react with the appropriate squeals and compliments I so desperately crave!

Anyway, here is what I did!

She's a teacher...fitting, eh?

I adore this fabric!!!

What's your favorite?  Any ideas for future onesies?

a crafty shower

I threw a shower for my pal the other day. I decided to make it a crafty affair. I've always wanted to do a onesie clothesline at a shower...so I did one!

I was so excited to get to use my wishblade! It took my a while to figure out exactly how the machine works and how exactly to get the banner to be perfect, but I think it turned out pretty well!

now all they need is the baby :)

baby book

This is the baby book sister4 made (yes, handmade) for sister1's lastest baby. The very same baby, in fact, that was so blessed with all the cuddly blankets of the last post!

blankets!

As I have mentioned before, I have some extrememly talented sisters. Today, it's time to show off some of the blankets they've made recently.

Sister3 made this for sister1 and her newest babe. I love the fabric! Actually, I have that fabric! The striped stuff is the same fabric I used on the dog bone onesie I made my nephew!

and sister1 made this for that same baby!

Check out that corner! Perfect!

I have my fabric...so stayed tuned. I'm going to see if fantastic blanket making is in my blood too!

etsy tuesday

Recently, sister6 emailed me and asked me for some ideas for onesies. She was headed to a baby shower and needed something super cute to give the new mom. Upon reading her email my exact thoughts were "why is she asking me and noy sister1? why didn't she check etsy?". Sister1, as I'm sure you know by now, is super craft happy and is superb at all she tries. When I was at her house this past weekend I was blown away by some of the appliques shirts she's made for her kids (including a cherry blossom branch and robots). Until I get a sewing machine (hint, hint b-hick...only 22 days until my birthday :) I must live vicariously through the applique of my sisters and those whom I stalk on etsy. I particularly liked this woman's shop. My only concern with these onesies is that she didn't sew right on the edge so after said clothes are washed, the edges might curl.

this seller also had some cute stuff...and not just onesies, blankets and the like.

Can you tell, I'm a little obsessed with applique! What does this make, my fourth applique post?!?!
